Elizabeth Jean Weaver, 85 of Columbus, Georgia formerly of Harrison, New York passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at her home in Midland, Georgia, surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Weaver better known as “Betty” was born in Tarrytown New York the daughter of Abel and Lillian Dumont Martin. She worked many years in the insurance industry, having worked for Nationwide Insurance Company and retired with IRM. She held many positions including claims adjuster, underwriter and agent. Ms. Betty grew up in the Catholic Church and later was married to her husband James Weaver and they started their lives together. James passed away in 1988. Ms. Betty enjoyed life and had many friends and passions, including bowling. She loved her family and all her fury friends her adorable pups. She was preceded by her parents, husband James Weaver, sister Jacqueline Brophy and grandson James David Weaver. She is survived by her daughter and her husband Dianne and Douglas Veit of Midland, grandson Charles Veit of New Jersey, great-grandchildren Jamie Weaver, Devon Weaver and Charlie Weaver; special niece Patty Brophy; special friend and daughter in spirit Josephine Mead and many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses, nurses aids and workers at Kindred Care Hospice. They wanted you to know that you all were the best and very helpful during this time. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make contributions to Kindred Care Hospice 100 Brookstone Centre Parkway Columbus, Georgia 31904 in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Weaver.
The Weaver family are planning a memorial service for a later time in New York.

I’m sorry for your loss. I know losing someone you love is very painful because , I lost my mother December 1st ,2017.
What help me to endure was relying on God’s word the Bible for comfort. And love and support from family and friends.
