Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann Bondurant, aged 64, passed away on November 5, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia. Born on December 26, 1959 in Tamuning, Guam, Lisa was the youngest of seven siblings and grew to be the matriarch of her family, known for her rebellious, fun-loving, spontaneous spirit, and incredible strength.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Kelvin McCorkle; six children, Erika (David) Brickwood and their children: Micah, Eve, Eden, and Eliza; Derek Bondurant (Phillip Rubalcava) and their children: Amariah and Angelyce; Precious (Alan) Alexander and their children: Alana and Alan, Jr.; Diandra (Darius) Dozier and their children: Suriyah and Serani; Jera (Kiana) McManus and their daughter, Calliope; and Leah McCorkle and her son, Liam. Lisa was known to many as “mom,” as she opened her heart and home to so many. This requires that we acknowledge her additional daughters, Shawntay and Dawntay Watts.
She also leaves behind two siblings, Thomas Cruz and Frances Leon-Guerrero, along with a host of extended family and lifelong friends, including Michael Birden and Randee McHugh. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Dolores Cruz, and siblings, Vincent Cruz, Julia (Jesus) Salas, Edward Cruz, Michael Cruz, and Bernadette Siguenza. Her deep love for her pets was evident, while she leaves behind her dog, Olive, she has been joyfully reunited with her faithful sidekick, “Cha Cha.”
Lisa’s interests included all things related to true crime! She would often spend her days glued to the Investigation Discovery channel, watching Dateline marathons, or tuning in to the latest crime documentary. During the healthier years of her life, she enjoyed walks around the lake with family, her dogs, but most importantly, with her grandchildren. Lisa was a very dedicated and involved grandmother, prioritizing spending as much quality time with her grandchildren as possible.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the wonderful life of Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann Bondurant will be held on November 11, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Cox Funeral Home, 240 Walton Street, Hamilton, GA 31811.
