Ms. Elizabeth Moore was born April 12, 1925, in Chattahoochee County, Georgia to the late Henry Parris and Effie Thomas Parris. God called her to eternal rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She was the 2nd of nine (9) siblings. She was preceded in death by brothers Henry W. Parris Jr., Willie James, & Robert Parris, and sisters Martha Peterson & Edna Mae Crumbley.
Elizabeth received her primary & secondary education in the Chattahoochee County Public School District. She moved to Detroit, Michigan, and attended Lewis Business College. Elizabeth was employed with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) as a Supervisor overseeing both the Sand Hill & Harmony Church stores. She retired with 25 years of dedicated service. Elizabeth was known for being quite the fashionista! She absolutely loved beautiful clothes & hats. She had an unforgettable sense of style and flair that gave her the reputation as the Fashion Diva. She not only wanted to look great, but she also wanted others to have that same opportunity, so after retiring, Elizabeth became the proprietor of (2) Thrift Shops featuring the latest styles where everyone could have an affordable opportunity to look great. She loved listening to music and reading fashion magazines. She also loved shopping and considered it retail therapy.
Elizabeth loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of Spirit, Truth, & Liberty Ministries International Church in Columbus, GA under the leadership of Rev. Thomas H. Mills Jr. where she served as the Altar Guild for as long as her health would allow.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her two daughters, Josephine Barnes (Columbus, GA) and Cynthia Moore-Ambrose (Charlotte, NC). Her brother Johnnie Parris (Rosia) and (2) sisters Lula Pearson (Ester) and Annie McCoy. Four (4) grandchildren, John W Jones III, Traci Youman (Marco), Asya & Sydney Ambrose. Four (4) great-grandchildren, Ashley Freeman, Malachi, Mataye & Makayla Youman. Great-Great Grandchild, Shawn Freeman Jr, and host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
