Faye Pruitt Bishop, 60, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 28 at home, surrounded by family. She is survived by her loving husband Larry Bishop, daughter Amanda Bond (Jeremy), son Blake Bishop (Rebecca) and stepdaughter Amber Dunn (Wesley). Also surviving are her mother Betty Ray, brother Lane Pruitt, and sisters Robin Stubbs, Rita Pruitt, Lori Desimone, Renee Gaddis, along with countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Faye was most proud of her title as “Best Memaw in the World” to Charlote, Rayllee, Jaxon, Hasley, Megan, and Aries.
Faye was born on April 28th, 1960 to Robert and Betty Pruitt. She attended Kendrick High School, graduating in 1978. She worked as a secretary and later as a homemaker.
Anyone that knew Faye knew that her best quality was her smile and ability to make anyone laugh at the most inappropriate time. Her light shone bright enough for everyone to see and enjoy. Her smile was as bright as the morning sun and just as warm. Faye was a lover of tiny things, especially babies and small animals. She had many little dogs throughout her life and loved them all dearly. She couldn’t stand for anyone around her to be hungry. As a child, Blake could delay bedtime every night by telling her he needed a snack. She was a nurturer through and through. If she had it, it was yours if you needed it.
Faye most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her favorite holidays were Christmas and Easter because all of the kids had such a good time. She loved Easters at Motherbake’s and family reunions in Opp, Alabama. To say that Faye adored her family is an understatement.

Leta Faye and I “B.A.T.” that’s what she called me met in Freshman girls chorus and laughed alot because of the bright orange flowered dresses we wore. She was a great person, friend and mentor. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. We met up again at Eastern Little League and had many good times together. She will be greatly missed. My prayers to the family.

I’ve known the Pruitt family most of my life. I’m so glad Faye stopped and befriended the ”little German girl” down the road. The Pruitt family became our family. We had no family at all here and we gained a huge one. Thank you Faye for all the love and nurturing you gave everyone throughout your life. I love you.
