Gary Wayne Freezer 70, of Fortson, Georgia passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 50 years by his side on July 20, 2023. Born on March 13, 1953 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Howard W. Freezer and Ruth Stine Freezer.
Gary was a 1972 graduate of the Williamsport Area High School. After graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Christina Stephens Freezer on November 26, 1972. Gary started working at Acme Markets in 1970, which later changed to Bilo Foods. He was in charge of all ordering for the store, worked frozen food, and the produce department. He was the type of guy everyone counted on to get things done.
In his spare time Gary loved spending time at their river lot. There were lots of get togethers with family and friends joining in. It was always nice to sit outside by a campfire, cooking smores, and enjoying a frosted mug of beer. Gary and Christina moved to Georgia in 2012 to be closer to their grandchildren. They didn’t want to miss them growing up!
In addition to his wife, Christina, Gary leaves behind his daughter Jennifer (Jason) Hughes, Sisters: Sherry Nork, and Beverly Nagle, Brothers: Jeff (Brenda) Freezer, Mark (Debi) Freezer, Matt (Anna) Freezer, and so many nieces and nephews who will miss “Candy Man” greatly.
Gary is preceded in death by both of his parents, Brother: Howard Freezer Jr., Sister: Linda Grimes, and Son: Michael Freezer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Georgia Cremation of Columbus, Georgia is assisting the family.
