Those we love don’t go away

Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed, and very dear

I was sitting in the sun watching my children play. A little red Toyota came up the driveway, this young lady stepped out of the car and said hi I’m Gaye Lyn and I’ve moved about 2/10 of a mile down our dirt road. She said, I have a chair in the car. Can I sit in the sun with you?? From that moment on Gaye and I were inseparable. She loved my children. She loved my animals. She put up with my husband. Our house was her house. The warmth and the kindness I felt from her was the sweetest, most humble, and kind .She was family. I have never met anyone like her. I will miss her terribly.

Gaye was my best friend in high school. Our families were close, spending time together on camping trips, playing cards, you name it. Gaye and I ran around together, listening to the Beatles, cruising through Circleville, you name it (we won’t). Though she moved to Georgia and I stayed in Ohio, we remained good buds through the years. She called me just a few weeks ago, asking for prayers for Weave. She had a heart of gold.
Her mom Sherrill, with a smile, always used to say about mischievous kids: “God love him! God love her!” And so, smiling, I say to my lifetime friend, “God love you, Gaye!”
Sue and Jill and families, God love you, too! She was one of a kind.

I, too, have memories of Gaye’s younger years. We stayed in touch via Fbook. She was a good friend of my younger sister’s but was just as fun and loving as if she were my own sister. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by many. R.I.P., Gaye, I trust you found Bek waiting at those pearly gates.

When I learned that my new friend had journeyed on I was paralyzed with heartache. I really adored Mrs. Weaver. It made me happy to hear her say, “Hey girlfriend.” I was so happy to finally meet her in person and become her friend. She was the sweetest lady and she really made me feel wonderful. I love the bond she had with her husband whom she loved so dearly. I know that she is in paradise with our heavenly father now but I will miss her and will always remember Mrs. Gaye Weaver. My heart goes out to the family and I pray for Mr Weaver. One thing is for certain, she had a beautiful heart and soul. I will never forget this sweet lady.
