Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Mr. Harold Elder Wortham, 74, of Newnan, Georgia passed away on October 26, 2022.

A celebration of life will be held at 4pm on November 6, at Grace Baptist Church in Sharpsburg, Georgia. A visitation will be held one hour prior in the fellowship hall.

Harold Wortham was born on July 14, 1948 in High Shoals, Georgia to Hubert and Irma Wortham.

Harold spent most of his childhood in Monroe, Georgia where he was raised alongside 9 siblings. During his working career, he spent time as a truck driver for GFA. In the year 1982, he met his dedicated and loving spouse, Linda with whom he would spend the remainder of his years. After marrying Linda and resigning from the transportation industry, Harold opened Fatboy’s Auto, a car dealership located in Mountain View, Georgia.

Harold is known and remembered for his sense of humor; the ability to make a complete stranger smile. He was a lover of Jesus, family and banana pudding. Antique’s and collectible cars, especially those with a fresh polish were his favorite things. Harold had a dedication to his family and was always the first to lend a helping hand.

He was blessed with an admirable strength that he found in his Lord and Savior. His bright display of love will be missed deeply by those who loved him most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Irma Wortham, siblings; Ann Rosier, Mary “Jit” Nichols, Jerry Wortham, Donald Wortham, Merle Wheeler, Peggy White and Terry Wortham.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 40 plus years, Linda Layfield Wortham, his children; Marcia Payne, Gale (Ray) Hickman, Melissa (Wesley) Beach, Yvonne (Randy) Taylor, Shane Durden, Jody (Jennifer) Wortham and Vicki Melton, grandchildren; Ace Hickman, Brandon (Bre) Hickman, Bradley (Anna Lea) Taylor, Blake (Kaitlyn) Taylor, Garett Payne, Lindy (John) Taylor, Mandolin Hickman, Bailey Taylor, Carson Beach, Makenna Wortham, Mason Wortham, Jaxon Wortham, Hollie Lawrence, Brandy Sanchez, Scott Melton, Angel Teague and Cody Flournoy, sisters; Brenda Townsend and Lorraine Blanton, as well several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous extended family members and friends.

Harold you will be missed. You had a heart of gold. You loved Jesus and helped share His name. You were a good friend to Karen and I while we lived in Newnan, and a better friend each time we came back to visit. We love you man and I know you are out of pain and suffering. You have a brand new body and are singing with the Jesus. To be absent from this body is to be present with our Lord. We will see you again my brother.
