Helen (Nanny) Patricia (Mathis) (Olinger) Doyle died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home January 30, 2020 in Columbus, Georgia after 76 great years of life.
Helen is survived by her sons, Scott Olinger, Shannon Olinger, and Steven Doyle; grandchildren, Marissa Kaler, Brian Olinger, Trevor Olinger and Josh Olinger; great-grandchildren, Taigen Kaler, Karsen Armstrong and Lucas Olinger; sister, Anita Louise Mathis Fryzel. She is preceded in death by parents, William Mathis and Mary Mathis; husband, Sam Olinger; two children, Steve Olinger and Sam Olinger and siblings, Anthony Mathis, Earl Mathis, Jerry Mathis Sizemore, and Howard Mathis.
Helen was born January 8, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia to William David Mathis and Mary Fleetie Allen Mathis. She lived in Opelika, Al., Beauregard, Al., and Columbus for most of her life, working as a beloved mother and entrepreneur.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 5:00pm to 7:00pm at her home on Friday, January 31st. Family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate Nanny’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to 2212 Devonshire Drive, Columbus, GA 31904.
