Mr. Keith Holder, age 63, passed away on August 13, 2022, after a two-week hospital stay from complications of diabetes. Until the last few years, Keith resided in the County Line area of Barrow County where his family were faithful members of Nazareth United Methodist Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Winder Barrow High School. In more recent years, Keith moved to Lawrenceville, GA after marrying his longtime companion, Holly Beasley.
In 1980, Keith graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Journalism. Following graduation, Keith became a free-lance film critic where his sharp wit and brutal honesty jeopardized the publication of his movie reviews in newspapers dependent on theater advertising for their revenue. Nevertheless, Keith always gave an honest appraisal of the films he reviewed and maintained an appreciation of classic movies and film making throughout his life. Keith’s other interests included the Pittsburgh Steelers, Georgia Bull Dogs, Nascar, and current events.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, B. E. Holder; his mother, Muriel Holder Guffin; his stepfather, James P. Guffin; and his aunt, Mae Opal Langford.
Keith is survived by his wife, Holly Beasley; his cousin Andrea Langford Williams; his cousin Peggy Evans; his stepsister Glenda Bannister; his cousin Vicki Sweeny; his cousin Jannie House Jennings; his cousin William House; his cousin Ben House; his cousin Chris House; and his beloved Collies.
Those wishing to honor Keith may make memorial gifts to the Nazareth United Methodist Church, 622 Dee Kennedy Rd., Winder, GA 30680 and Paws Atlanta, 5287 Covington Hwy, Decatur, GA 30035.

Wish I could’ve said goodbye 😢 Keith you will be truly missed! My love for classic movies comes from you! I loved watching movies with you when I was younger while eating cheese balls and drinking Sunkist along with fond memories playing outside with Shane and Max. Love you Keith! RIP ❤️🙏🏻 with Aunt Mell and Uncle B

Keith I love you. RIP. We had such good memories of our childhood in Daytona Beach and Halloween and Christmas. We also enjoyed lunch together when you were attending UGA. You would do General Patton and make my office staff laugh so much. We shared a love for cars and pets. My Aunt Muriel and our grandmother Nanny. You were like a brother and Aunt Muriel like another mother. I hope you will see your mother, your father, our grandmother and my mother. We loved you so much. ❤️❤️

JUST learned of Keith’s passing this weekend, months after the fact. It breaks my heart that his unique voice is no longer being heard! We exchanged so many emails after I moved away from Georgia, where we met originally at UGA, and I will never forget this dear friend.
