
James (Jim) Renick Harris was born before electricity or indoor plumbing on the Harris family farm in Skene, Mississippi 1926. He married his love, a bobbie-sox girl, soda jerk printer & artist
from Greenwood, MS in ‘46. They loaded up on his motorcycle for a world tour and Jim joined the Army. In ‘53 their son arrived; in ‘54 Jim took his family to Siam while he was detailed to the
King of Siam to keep his Christ Craft running. In ‘62 Jim was stationed in Orléans, France; in ‘65, Jim deployed to Vietnam as a helicopter pilot, upon return Jim was stationed to Ft. Rucker, AL as a rotary wing instructor pilot; in ‘68, Jim retired, built a home in Enterprise, AL and raised state champion hunting beagle dawgs until relocating back to Columbus, GA; in ‘73 Jim managed the automotive craft shop at Sandhill on Ft Benning. In ‘80 Jim became a Beekeeper and supported the Chattahoochee Valley Beekeepers Association where Jim was President several years, Jim became a master Beekeeper and Georgia Beekeeper of the year in 2006. Jim is survived by a son and two Grandsons who honor his life.
