James “Jim” Wesley Stephens, born on June 15, 1941, in Meriwether County, Georgia, passed away at home on April 3, 2022, in Oakwood, GA, surrounded by his loving wife and their friend, Mary Brown.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Wesley Stamps; mother, Frances Pierce (Nelson) Stamps Stephens; stepfather, Emmett Stephens; grandparents, Robert Noble and Anna (Dutton) Nelson.
Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Candis (Kent) Stephens; half-sister, Pam Stephens; first cousins, Mary Stamps Bennett and Sam, Kat and Jim Angerami.
Jim was a loving husband, caring friend, gifted photographer, plus raconteur, punster, gardener, author, “cat- whisperer.” He served eight years in the Navy Air Reserves and thirty-two as a southeast medical equipment rep. He loved travel and was pleased to publish his novel: Fields of Gold: The Orchid and the Rose.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 21st from 12-2 PM at First United Methodist on Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA.
