James T. Coughlin, age 71, of Dunellen, NJ, passed away on October 20, 2022, in Lawrenceville GA. Born on August 18, 1951, in Pennsylvania. He grew up in Greenbrook, NJ, and graduated from Dunellen High School in 1969. He served in the United States Air Force and worked as a carpenter. James loved to play golf, umpire softball/baseball games, and spend time with his family. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports, he was a huge New York Yankees and Giant fan, and loved to sing karaoke.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Peg Crowley; father, James Coughlin Sr.; stepfather, Michael Crowley Sr.; sister, Mary Theresa Ronca; and brothers, Patrick Coughlin and Thomas Coughlin.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kaszarda Hughes Coughlin; brother, Michael Crowley Jr.; 5 stepchildren, Michael Hughes of Middlesex, NJ; Stacey Hughes of Tarpon Springs, FL; Lori Hughes Adcock of Tarpon Springs, FL; Kevin Hughes of Newark, NJ; and Kristin Hughes Croteau of Winder, GA; and 9 grandchildren, Sean Hughes, Mackenzie Hughes, Elizabeth Soto, Riley Adcock, Austin Adcock, Ethan Adcock, Lincoln Adcock, Emilee Bea and Eddie.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. The family will have a memorial service in Dunellen, NJ, at a later date.

I went to High School with Jim in Dunellen. When he was a carpenter he worked out ot the same Union Hall in Plainfield NJ as my father. Jim was a good guy and will be missed and remembered by his classmates. Rest in Peace my friend. TAPS….Salute.
