Janet E. Quigley Alavosus, formerly of Rockville Center, NY and Shrewsbury, MA, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2018. Janet was an avid sports fan with unwavering support of the Patriots. She enjoyed many years with great friends playing tennis, golf and bridge; and watching football and golf. She enjoyed spending her final years in warmer climates. While we are sad to lose her and will miss her sense of humor and enjoyment of pizza, we will always feel her presence and hear her saying “Hello there, Dear”. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alavosus, Jr.; daughter, Denise Gallic; and brother, Howard Quigley. She was the beloved mother of Stacy Schwab (Peter), Linda Gadilauskas (David), and Allison Schneider (Patrick); and dear sister of Maureen Leck. She was proudly the grandmother of Jessica Schwab(Scott Van Pelt), David Schwab, Marisa Gadilauskas, Sara Gadilauskas, Taylour Schneider, Zachary (Sara) Schneider; and great grandmother of Sawyer Schneider, Dawson Schneider and Lillian Van Pelt.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. on January 11, 2019 at St. Agnes Church in Rockville Center, NY. Followed by a burial at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, NY. The family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation 3570 Buford Highway, Suite 202, Duluth, GA 30096 (678)584-0914. Messages of condolence may be shared at www.GeorgiaCremation.com.
