Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of our beloved Jean Cortez, who left us peacefully on December 10, 2024 at the age of 84.
Born in Algeria on September 1, 1940 and was a resident of Mourenx, France, and Quito, Ecuador. He most recently moved to Lawrenceville, GA to be with his beloved family.
He was a true testament to the value of hard work, integrity, and family. He was as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend that truly shined, offering gentle guidance, endless support, and the kind of love that made those around him feel truly seen and cherished. He is survived by his daughter: Carine V DiOrio and grandchildren: Ivan Martinez, Carol Martinez & David Martinez and great grandchildren: Camilla Garrison, Arielys Acosta, Alejandro Acosta and Bruno Robelly who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His wisdom, humor, and the lessons he imparted will live on through those he leaves behind.
He was an avid soccer fan and referee for local games in Quito, Ecuador.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Rd SW, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, from 12 pm to 2 pm.
You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. You will forever remain in our hearts. May you rest in peace.
