Jeffry Lynn “Jeff” Calhoun, age 70, of Locust Grove, GA, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020.
Jeff was born in Chicago, IL to the late John and Hallie Calhoun. He grew up in Miami, FL as one of seven children. Jeff obtained the rank of Army Sergeant while serving in Vietnam. He retired from BellSouth after 30 years of service. Jeff enjoyed his retirement working part-time for Disney.
Jeff was outgoing and quick witted. He was always making his wife, Carol, laugh. He loved to play golf and was even in the Golf Channel Amateur Tour. What started out as a men’s golf weekend in Orlando turned into an annual all family vacation at Disney World to play golf, celebrate birthdays and spend time at the parks. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. Jeff loved watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves.
Along with his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his sisters: Beverly Guadagnuolo and Jacqueline Lewis; brother: John P. Calhoun. Jeff is survived by his wife of 32 years: Carol H. Calhoun of Locust Grove; children and their spouses: Joshua and Bridget Calhoun of Shelby, NC, Ryan and Kenlyn Calhoun of Grants Pass, OR, and Laura Kirby of Locust Grove; grandchildren: Jolee, Jace, Drake and Jocelyn Calhoun; sister: Lana Hinz; brother: Martin “Toby” Calhoun, his wife Donna, and Jerold “Jerry” Calhoun; many nieces and nephews whom he loved so much.
