Jeff Mundie, 58, of Brookhaven, GA, passed away on January 7, 2023. Jeff was born on March 22, 1964, to John and Irene Mundie in Burnaby, Canada. As a young boy, the family moved to Montreal where he and his lifelong friends developed a great love for sports, especially the game of Rugby. An accomplished player, Jeff had the honor of playing for the Canadian National Under 20 Rugby Team of Canada twice. He had fond memories of playing for his hometown team the Montreal Irish, clubs in Australia and South Africa as well as coaching various Atlanta Rugby Clubs. His leadership on the rugby pitch was valued by his fellow teammates and by those he had coached.
Jeff’s other great love was travel. After graduating from Memorial College in Newfoundland, Jeff left to travel the world. A modern-day Marco Polo, Jeff visited well over 100 countries. An adventure traveler, with his beloved wife Lisa at his side, Jeff touched all corners of the globe. Whether it was an epic Cape to Cairo trek or circumnavigating the globe, Jeff was happiest exploring this planet. A true citizen of the world, he lived in London, emigrated to Australia, and then later moved to Atlanta, proudly becoming a U.S. citizen, where he went on to receive a master’s in education.
It was his mighty presence and magnetic personality that made him beloved. Anyone who called him a friend will remember Jeff’s texts with their witty and erudite commentary. We will all miss his emails starting with “G’day Mate!” and always ending with “Cheers!”. Jeff will always be remembered for his incredible ability to connect with, honor, and value others.
Jeff is survived by his wife Lisa Pintozzi, mother Irene Mundie, brothers Joel Mundie, J.C. Mundie, and the late Jamie Mundie along with an extended network of family and friends. His ashes will be spread around the globe as he would have liked.

My deepest condolences to Aunt Irene, Lisa, JC. and Joel. Also to the entire family and dear friends. Jeff was a charismatic, lively kind soul. I remember going to watch him play rugby at The Brockton Oval in Stanley Park when I lived in Vancouver. He loved that game and all his comrades he met along the way. I can also remember as a young girl visiting the family in Montreal. It was a lively house. Four boys and two whippet dogs! I then met his beautiful wife Lisa in Kelowna several years ago when Jeff visited his mom and dad. Lisa I send big hugs your way. It was Jeff’s journey. He is with our lord above in a peaceful place♥️Love, Karen Campbell ( Jeff’s cousin)

I’m going to miss Jeff’s endless text messages offering advice from NHL to NCAAF. As a well read man he always had an informed opinion on everything which I truly appreciated. Friends since our teenage years I will cherish my memories of this larger than life man.
Lisa, though we only met once in San Francisco (Stinking Rose) years ago, please accept my most sincere condolences and I hope that fond memories of Jeff comfort you during these most difficult times.
To John and Joel – I am so sorry for your loss and you boys are in my prayers.
Rest easy Jeff – you will be missed. I’m sure heaven is not quite so tranquil with you and Jamie back together. See you on the other side.

Dear Lisa, I was in shock to hear of Jeff’s passing. My deepest condolences to you and to all his family and friends. I have met Jeff only a few times of course because I live on the other side of the world, but I was hoping for new opportunities always as the both of you love to travel. I am so sorry not to have had the chance to get to know him better. But his messages and his humor will certainly be remembered. I loved how he kept in contact with us over the years, especially when the Dutch had won (or lost) a sport game somewhere in the world and he was there with a joke or a cheer.
Dear Lisa, our thoughts are with you. I hope you will find your bearings and courage to move through life without him as your buddy. I wish I could hold you and help, and I feel useless on the other side of the ocean! Be assured that I think of you and please feel welcome in the Netherlands and in our house if you need to travel somewhere….
Much love from us, Jolanda, Lonneke, Lisa, Esther and Wick.
