Jessie Ray Thigpen 92 was born April 23, 1931. He departed this life on January 21, 2024.
Jessie was born in Ayden, North Carolina where he grew up. He was married to the late George Ann
Bonner. He left Ayden as a young man and made his residency in Baltimore, Maryland where he worked as a public servant. He remained in Baltimore for over 60 years; as his health declined, he moved to Cataula, Georgia in 2017, to be with his family.
Jessie, predeceased by his father Artillery Carmon, his mother Nelly Fordham. Bonus Mother, Betty Summerall, bonus dad Grover Thigpen, one sister, Betty Gray Anderson and one brother, Elmer Ray Carmon.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Shirley Thigpen-Garris of Cataula, GA. Darlene Thigpen-Witcher of Columbus, GA. One devoted Son-in-Law. Milton R. Garris Sr., one grandson, Milton R Garris Jr. of Stone Mountain, GA One granddaughter, Lykiria Iyamu of Columbus GA, nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be a private ceremony and Jessie will lay to rest at:
