Joane Ellen Campbell, born on December 30, 1952, in Lansing, Michigan, passed away on March 25, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Joane had many nicknames, but she will always be remembered as Granny or Dizzle to all who knew her. She had a love for Bingo and playing slots at the Casino. She had a passion for food, always asking everyone what they were having for dinner.
Granny always loved flowers; roses were amongst her favorites. Whenever spring started, she would be ready to tend to the flower beds.
Joane is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joseph Ellsworth Campbell; her son, Ervin Campbell of St. Louis, Michigan; her daughter and son-in-law, Asiya and Moinuddin Siddiqui; grandsons Eliazar (Kelsey) Perez, Alejandro (Ivy) Perez, Youssef El- Shaer, Raihan Siddiqui; her granddaughter, Soraiya Siddiqui of Lilburn, Georgia; siblings, Vern Yerke of Mason Michigan, Paulette Anspach and Alvina Holmes of Lansing Michigan; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Violet Yerke, and her son Joel Allen Campbell.
One of Granny’s Favorite Verses was Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

Mom,
The days ahead I do not know what they hold . But I pray that it’s filled with peace, and my heart feels less heavy. That my tears will stop flowing. That as spring unfolds the beauty of summer. I can find some joy watching all the things you would have loved to see. Being outdoors, and seeing all the beautiful flowers come to life. You were one of the toughest ladies you could ever meet.
Rest easy Mom, I hope you embraced Joel. You told me you would tell him how much I love and miss him.
I’m glad your final days you were surrounded by immense love, and comfort.
You knew you were loved. You were able to express your love and find peace within your soul. I will forever miss you Mom. You were loved more than you ever knew!
