Jose Oscar Montes, 65, of Fayetteville, GA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Jose was born July 14, 1957, in Concepcion, Junin, Peru to the late Victor Montes Suaznabar and Maria Asuncion Montes. He grew up in Peru alongside his 5 brothers, 2 sisters and his parents until the age of 35. Jose was very talented and excelled in school. He was able to graduate the University and worked as a Metallurgical Engineer for a mining company. In 1983 Jose met a beautiful woman named Rosa. The two fell in love and were wed in 1995 and went on to have 2 amazing kids. He left Peru to move to the USA to accompany his family. The family lived in New Jersey for several years before moving to Fayetteville, GA. In New Jersey, he navigated the challenges of raising two kid and owning a restaurant along side his wife. In Georgia he worked as a truck driver and he and Rosa owned and operated Rosa’s Home Cooking.
Jose was a devout Catholic and a true man of God. He loved to learn about any and everything and enjoyed building and inventing new things. Jose could do anything he put his mind too. He was supportive to his children and wife. Jose loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. After his first surgery they traveled to Peru where they visited Manchu Picchu, The Mountain of 7 Colors, Lago Titicaca, and his father’s tomb. Jose was an amazing grandfather and spent much time playing with the girls. He will forever be missed and always remembered by his family. His family loved him immeasurably.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents: Victor and Maria Montes; and his brother: Luis Montes. He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Rosa Isabel Montes; his daughter Lissy Montes of Fayetteville; his son Luis Montes of Fayetteville; grandchildren: Nova Colon and Reagan Montes; and his favorite dog: Max.
