Joseph W. Haas – Joe

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

11/18/1952 – 10/15/2024

Joe passed away peacefully in his sleep on 10/15/2024 after a brief illness.

Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary, daughters Keisa (Dan) and Marybeth (Darren). His
grandchildren Joe, Megan (Vinnie), Deanna (Alex), Darren Jr, Leo, and Violet His great-
grandchildren Conner, Lillian, Matthew, and Isobel as well as his brothers Bob (Kathy) and Tom
(Carol). Joe was predeceased by his daughter Katie and his son Matt.

Joe was a man of deep faith and he lived his faith every day. Joe never had an unkind word for
anyone. He did not have friends for long because every friend became family in short order. Joe
was a beloved member of the Webster NY community for 40 years and developed quick,
meaningful friendships in the 4 years he lived in Columbus GA. His great-grandchildren were his
greatest joy but he treasured his time with his entire family. He maintained a love for all things
Michigan – the state of his birth. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and his family’s
lives are forever changed by his passing.

There will not be a service for Joe as that was not his wish. The family will have a private burial
in NY so that he can be at rest near his cherished children.

Georgia Cremation-Columbus is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Mary and family,
Our sincerest condolences to you all. Joe was so remarkable smiley and friendly to all. I can still envision that smile from years past in high school.
I believe the next place his soul resides he will be gleefully greeted by your loved ones. Give strength to one another as you pass through this mournful time in your lives. I know he will be terribly missed.

    Back story….
Violet was in my daycare for 3 years! When Grandpa Joe and Grandma Mary came into town for a visit or a pick up, it was always nice to see them. The love he showed Violet was like no other. And he always made me feel loved and appreciated for caring for her. He will be missed by me. My condolences to the family for such a big loss. RIP Grandpa Joe!

For years I have missed working with Joe at Xerox, we did good work but still had fun. I have very fond memories of playing darts with him for Zaz’s dart team. And in his honor, I will root for his Lions this year ( unless they are playing the Eagles, sorry Joe). It’s a shame he won’t be able to watch them when they actually have a good team! My condolences to the family, rest in peace Joe.
