Julius Bell Smith, Jr. of Atlanta passed away December 22 after a long illness. He was born July 9, 1938 in Augusta to Julius Bell Smith and Evelyn Webb Smith.
Family
Survivors are his wife Patricia, sons Julius and Congdon (Keiko) of Santa Monica CA and daughter Charlotte of Atlanta, sister Margaret Novit of Charleston, grandchildren Norina and Julian of CA, and a niece and two nephews of Charleston.
Life Story
He graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia SC where he played football and ran track. He attended The Citadel and served in the US Army in Japan. Completing his education at St. Sophia University, he remained in Japan for nine years working in advertising. Returning to the states he served as a financial broker and was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade. He retired as a food broker. He was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church where he attended The Seekers Class for over forty years.

A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Peachtree Presbyterian Church 3434 Roswell RD, NW, Atlanta, GA 30305 (404)842-5800.
