I remember Kris and I boxed in gym class in VMI, and i remember taking a punch from straight on the nose. Little did I know life took both of us to the same employer after college but we were in different parts of the country. Life is too short, but regret lives on forever for I will always treasure the fond memories I had on Kris . God bless Kris , and to you the family. My family’s thoughts and prayers will be forever with you

Charlie Bunting says
On behalf of the VMI Class of 2001 we extend our love and deepest condolences to all of Kris’ family, especially to Katie and Molly. As you know Kris was our Brother Rat, a title that is sacred to us, and beloved by our entire class. Kris was a devoted friend to so many. He was always – always – present with a smile and a kind word. The Class of ’01 is a close family and while we share in the grief of Kris’ passing, we celebrate the joy of knowing him and all being the better for it in our own lives. We remember Kris as a warm soul who never had an unkind word to say about anyone. To Kris’ family we send our prayers, sympathy and love to you amid this loss and the loss of one of our own. We are all now enjoined to live lives like Kris – positive, cheerful, kind and loyal – so in this way his legacy will live on in the hearts of each and every one of us. And the world will be better for it. Please know you have over three hundred souls from Kris’ class at VMI who are with you right now and stand by your side. We know Kris’ is in God’s warm embrace, as are all of you. And while our ranks have lost a dear friend and brother, Heaven has gained a bright and smiling soul who will be marching at our side forever. In the Spirit, Charlie Bunting, President, VMI Class of 2001
