Leisha Ellen Edwards, 54, of Hampton, Georgia was taken to her eternal home on Saturday, July 15th, 2023, following her battle with cancer. Her memory will live on in those she has touched throughout her life.

Leisha was born on September 16^th, 1968, in Tucker, Georgia to Ruby and Harold Golden. Growing up she played alongside her four sisters and later attended Roosevelt High School. Leisha married her husband Timothy Edwards 38 years ago. She spent her entire life in the state of Georgia, and she always dreamed of having a place of warmth and gathering for her family. A place to call home and she found that place in Hampton. Leisha dedicated her life to her six children, caring for them and preparing them to lead their own lives.

Her family knew her to be one to turn on some music and dance around, enjoying just spending the time with her family and having fun. She also wasn’t one to complain about relaxing a little, taking a nice warm bath was always one of her favorite activities. Leisha also enjoyed hopping on a motorcycle and taking a ride through the mountains to enjoy the view and the thrill that came from the ride. She was a good Christian woman who loved her family and The Lord above all else.

Leisha is preceded in death by her son Kaleb Edwards, her parents, and her brothers- in- law: J.D. “Big Bro” Cosby and Steve Pittman; and nephew: little Steve Pittman. She is survived by her children: her son, Wayne Timothy Edwards of Atlanta, son, Aaron Ezzel Edwards of Atlanta, daughter, Alexandria Sarah Faith Edwards (and partner Nelson Rojas) of Atlanta, son, Ryan Nicholas Edwards (and wife Katie) of Atlanta, and son Mitchell Patrick Jensen (son of Patrick Jensen, deceased). Her grandchildren: Faith Alicia Jane Rodrigues, Kayden Ezell Pratt, Sophia Edwards, and Haisley Ryder Rojas. Her sisters: Rebecca Cosby Elliott (an husband John Elliott) of Dallas, Karen G. Pittman of Austell, and Michelle G. Woods (and husband Ricky “little bro”) of Hampton. Her family companions: Bo-Bo (Guinea Pig), Little Bit (Snake Rat), and Toby (Dog).

Funeral Services for Leisha will be held Monday July 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at The Chapel Jonesboro, located at 1565 Commercial Ct., Jonesboro, GA 30238. Visitation for Leisha’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 PM in the sanctuary of The Chapel.
