Linda D. Lovett was born June 24, 1952 in Lumpkin, Stewart County, Georgia to Alma Moses and the late James Hollis Crocker. Linda gave her life to Christ at an early age, which showed in the way she lived her life. Linda began working in the long-term healthcare industry at a young age. Throughout her working years, she worked for many of the nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the Columbus area including Muscogee Manor, Rivertown Health, and Orchard View Assisted Living. She was a caregiver at heart and enjoyed helping others.
When Linda was not working, she could either be found catching up on sleep or shopping, her most joyous pastime. In her younger years, Linda loved to dance and could cut a rug with the best of them. She was very sharp and was known for her quick witted and humorous comebacks, which would bring a smile to anyone’s face. Her biggest love was her family; and she adored prepping holiday meals for all to gather and enjoy.
Linda D. Lovett, 66, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Columbus Hospice surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She is preceded in death by her father, Hollis Crocker and both sets of paternal and maternal grandparents.
She is survived by her mother, Alma L. Coles of Columbus, Georgia; sons: Jamal Lovett and Ashante Lovett both of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren: Demichael Lovett, Dy’Kal Lovett, Ja’nyla Moss, and Zyanna Brazil; siblings, Paula Hill of Thomasville, Georgia and Mary Solomon of Columbus, Georgia; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will hold a Private Celebration of Life Service honoring the wishes of Ms. Lovett. The family requests that donations in memory of Ms. Linda D. Lovett to be made to Columbus Hospice or West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition.
The Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care and support shown to Ms. Lovett and her loved ones by the wonderful caregivers of St. Francis Hospital and Columbus Hospice.
