Ms. Linda Kay (Cheek) Mitchell, age 63, of Tyrone, passed away Saturday May 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

Ms. Mitchell was born on March 11, 1955 in Atlanta to Howard Cheek and Bessie Cheek. She was a hard-working mother who supported her three children. She was devoted to her grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. Ms. Mitchell enjoyed the mountains, the crisp fall season and the color blue.

Ms. Mitchell was preceded in death by her father Howard Cheek and her twin sister: Glinda Fay Garland. She is survived by her mother: Bessie Petty of Sargent; children: Tammy Stephens of Tyrone,  Christopher Brown of Lakeland and Robert King of Tyrone; sister: Bonny Cheek of Sargent; brother and sister-in-law: Joseph and Tara Cheek of Newnan; grandchildren: Kristen Stephens of Atlanta, Kaley Stephens of Tyrone, Kody Stephens of Tyrone, Christopher Brown Jr. of Ohio, Brandi Brown of Lakeland and Ashley Brown of Lakeland; great-grandson: Landon Joe Crosby of Lakeland; several nieces and nephews.
At Ms Mitchell’s request she will be cremated and she requested no service.
