Lloyd Harry Johnson, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on December 14, 2021. No services are scheduled at this time.
Lloyd was born in Rydal, Gordon County, Georgia, the second of four sons of the late Wallace W. Johnson and Cora Christine Coker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jeanne Johnson. They were married for almost 63 years after meeting at Reinhardt College in Waleska. Upon graduating from Berry College in Rome with a degree in Mathematics, he was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army, and they married after his discharge. Lloyd and Mary Jeanne moved to the house they built in Fayette County on their first anniversary. Lloyd worked for the Georgia Highway Department as a draftsman until the early ‘70s, when he resigned to begin his lifelong work of building and operating Fernwood Park, a mobile home community for seniors.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Earl Johnson, two daughters, Laura Lyons, Columbia, SC and Kelly Johnson, Athens, OH; and three grandchildren, Seth and Sean Lyons, and Leah Allan.
