Mamie Sue Duck, 86, of McDonough, GA, passed from this life on February 24, 2024. Mamie was born on February 4, 1938, in Pickens, SC. She was raised by her loving mother, Angeline Smith. She grew up alongside cousins Brackett and Lillian Smith.

Mamie moved several times throughout her life. She lived in Riverdale, GA, and Jonesboro, GA. She also spent some time living in Fort Pierce, Florida. Mamie was married to her sweetheart Grady Duck on February 13, 1965. They were married for 54 wonderful years. They had two children together, Sue and Carl.

Mamie enjoyed spending her days with her granddaughter Emma, watching the wild deer enter the yard to eat pears off the trees. She was an avid bird watcher and loved identifying the different types of birds in her yard. She also liked to color, grow flowers, and play jigsaw puzzles, solitaire, and Mahjong. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and special pets, including Little D and Hoppy.

Mamie was preceded in death by her mother: Angeline Smith; her husband: Grady H Duck and her cousin: Brackett Smith McAbee. She is survived by her children: Sue Duck and Carl Duck; her granddaughter Emma Grace Duck; and her cousin, Lillian Smith, all of McDonough, GA. Mamie will be remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.
