Margaret Elizabeth Watson Rucker passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Warm Springs Nursing Home in Warm Springs, Georgia. She was 84 years old.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 19th at Evergreen Memorial Park in Columbus, Georgia with Rev. Donna Cumbie officiating.
Margaret was born May 3, 1934 in Damascus, Virginia to the late Love and Caloney Watson. She grew up in Virginia and later resided in Columbus, Georgia. Margaret retired from Ranger Joe’s as a seamstress where she enjoyed working and often mentioned the great respect she had for the young soldiers serving their Country. Margaret loved her late husband, loved her family, loved music, and loved her little dog, “Rags.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, James D. Rucker, a Son James A. Wilson, Brothers Ernest Watson, Austin Watson, Robert Watson, Charles Watson, Reelia Watson, and James Watson all of Virginia, Sisters Mae Heath of Virginia and Gladys Smith of Massachusetts.
She is survived by (four children) Two Daughters – Rev. Donna (Tommy) Cumbie of Wicksburg, AL, Catherine (Michael) Stanislawski of Fortson, GA, and Two Sons – W. Scott Wilson of Cataula, Ga, and Randall C. Wilson of Phenix City, AL. Ten Grandchildren – Brandy, DWayne, David, Kevin, Mark, Monica, Sebastian, Breanna, Reanna, and Jayson, and 14 Great Grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Angela and Tracy of Columbus Hospice; Susan, Donna, Mae, and Fannie at Warm Springs Nursing Home, and Ms. Janet and the staff at Roosevelt Place Assisted Living in Warm Springs, Georgia and Dr. Victor Lambert for his compassionate care for Ms. Rucker for many years.
