Margaret Ellis Voorhees, 72, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020, at her home.
Mrs. Voorhees was born November 16, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia, daughter of the late Frank Ellis, Sr. and Grace Lois Ellis. Margaret graduated from Jordan High School and was retired from West Central Georgia Regional Hospital as well as a self-employed medical transcriber. Margaret loved her family! She enjoyed spending time and talking with her son, grand-children and great grand-children. She, especially, enjoyed talking on the phone with her grand-son, Tyler. She loved to watch her cooking shows, especially “The Pioneer Woman” and duplicate the recipes. She enjoyed playing board games, cards and loved the slot machines. She was loved so very much by her family and will be missed greatly.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and sister’s, Melba Michael and Shirley Eppinette. Survivors include her son, Gary Voorhees, Jr. and his wife, Dawn Voorhees; grandson’s, Tyler Voorhees, Makiah Voorhees and Zach Parquette and grand-daughter Nichole Parquette (to include their spouses); great grand-children, Colbie, Isiah, Kase, Elizabeth and a new baby girl to be born in February, 2021; siblings, Frank Ellis, Jr., Kenneth Ellis and Lora Pflugrad; sister-in-law’s, Faye Ellis and Lynelle Ellis; a host of nieces and nephews and family and friends. She will be forever missed and loved dearly.
Her ashes will be spread at an undisclosed location at a later date.

I had the best grandma in the world she is in a better place no longer in any pain watching down on the loved ones I can feel her help me and guide me like she always has i am very thankful for the time i had with her and i have so many memories that keeps her alive in my head missed loved but never forgotten till the day i join you 😚 love you more grandma
