Maria Milagros Cruz Santiago
May 15, 1949 – October 3, 2020
Mrs. Maria M. Sierra, 71, of Cusseta, GA, passed away Saturday, October 3, in the comfort of her home. A private memorial service will be held with her church at a later date.
Mrs. Maria was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico to Francisco and Martina Cruz. She had three sisters, Rosaura Vazquez and Maria S. Vazquez (her twin), both from Ohio, and Evelyn Leon (Jose Leon), with whom she lived. She also had one brother, Angel L. Cruz (Matilde Leon), also from Ohio.
Mrs. Maria came from Puerto Rico at a very young age. She married Alfonso Sierra (deceased) in 1974 and had one daughter, Esther M. Sierra, of Ohio, and 4 granddaughters. She worked in many sewing factories in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews in Puerto Rico and Ohio.
Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 18:46. She will be missed dearly. She was very active in the Dorcas Society, of the Cleveland Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she participated in community service sewing and cooking for those in need.
