Mark Yurivich Kostovetskiy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on December 21, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 90 years old, born on March 27, 1934, in Novokuznetsk, Russia, to Yuri and Kraina Kostovetskiy.
Mark lived a full and meaningful life. He dedicated his career to electrical engineering in St. Petersburg, Russia, before enjoying a well-deserved retirement filled with the simple pleasures of gardening and fishing. After immigrating to the United States in 1998, Mark became a loyal neighbor who was always happy to help – whether it was tinkering with a broken television or changing a lightbulb. In his free time, he could usually be found breaking a sweat at the local YMCA – swimming laps or relaxing in the sauna. He often had a digital camera in his hand to document precious moments with his family and loved tending to his garden behind his home. While he wasn’t always the best driver, he loved traveling and consistently managed to find his way around (while talking his way out of any tickets).
Mark is survived by his wife of 64 years, Izabella Kostovetskaia; his son, Boris Kostovetsky (Laura); his grandson, Wesley (Fabiola); his granddaughter, Kathryn; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mia, and Isabella. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Private arrangements are to be held at a later time. Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the family with arrangements.
