Martha “Marty” Hyche D’Arcy, born October 24, 1946, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 23, 2024, in Newnan, Georgia, after a courageous four-month battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Captain John “Jack” J. D’Arcy III. Marty is survived by her son, Brian J. D’Arcy; his wife, Yana C. D’Arcy; and her two cherished grandchildren, Liam and Holden.

Born and raised in Alabama, Marty lived in various places across the United States throughout her life. Among these, Pensacola, Florida, held a special place in her heart. She had a lifelong love for the beach, enjoyed playing golf with the “girls” at Burningtree Country Club, and appreciated a good glass of red wine. Marty often reflected on her life with gratitude, describing it as amazing and full, with no regrets.

Marty began her professional career at Hertz before embarking on an exciting chapter as a flight attendant for National Airlines in the late 1960s. It was during this time that she met Jack, the love of her life, with whom she shared a happy and devoted marriage until his passing in 2017. In 1976, Marty embraced her most treasured role as a full-time mother following the birth of their son, Brian.

Throughout her life, Marty cultivated many friendships that spanned the globe. She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her life was defined by love and the joy she brought to others.

In accordance with Marty’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Grace Hospice (https://www.southerngracehospice.com/donate), who provided compassionate care to both Marty and Jack during their time of need. May her memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
