Martha Steele Karriker of Columbus, GA died peacefully in her sleep on June 9, 2022 at the age of 80.

Ms. Karriker was born in Mooresville, NC on April 9, 1942. She graduated from Mooresville High School and worked most of her life in the public school system. Martha was a loving mother and grandmother that loved nothing more than caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Knox Steele and Mary Stutts Steele; her brother, Richard Thomas Steele and her sister, Carol Steele Robinson.

Survivors include her son, Charles Ashley Karriker (Beth) of Columbus; her daughter, Anita Kay Lee of Columbus; grandsons, Scott Cogar (Hannah) of Charlotte, NC, Matt Karriker of Columbus, Nick Cogar of Auburn, AL and Ben Cogar of Atlanta; one great grandson, Jack Cogar; one brother, Gerry Steele (Patricia)  of Sherrills Ford, NC; four sisters, Ruth Evelyn Sherrill of Clairmont, NC, Joyce Lytle of Mooresville, NC, Norma Deck (Ronald) of Catawaba, NC, Alice Freeze (John) of Mooresville, NC and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
