Maureen Stuart, of Peachtree City, Georgia, died at the age of 85 on June 10, 2025. She was born Maureen Anderton on May 26, 1940, in Tarrytown, New York, to the late Marie Claven and Leigh Anderton.
In 1958, Maureen joined the Air Force, where she met the love of her life, Gerald Stuart. They married and embarked on a journey that took them around the world, creating a lifetime of memories together.
Maureen will be remembered for her quick wit, kindness, generosity, and her collection of funny t-shirts, which always brought a smile to those around her. She was a humorist, writer, poet, baker, and always the smartest person in the room. Her presence brought warmth and light, and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gerald; her children, Damien, Shannon, and Heather; her grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Casey, Delaney, and Alexandra; her great-grandson, Xavier; and her sister, Valerie.
Maureen was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey, and her siblings, Patricia, Lee, Allan, Ruth, and Kate.
Robert Boren says
We have known Maureen since the 1960’s when Jerry and I worked together in the command post at Robins AFB, GA. We were also neighbors in Warner Robins, GA. Many years later, we were neighbors again in Seoul, Korea. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful personality as well. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Shirley and I send our sincere condolences to her family and our dear friends.
