“End of the Trail”

Michael “Mike” Allen Hodgson, age 68, of Eufaula, Alabama, passed away on October 12, 2025 after a long illness, with his wife by his side.

Micheal was born in Coronado, California to Donna Jean Fox and Byron Dale Hodgson. Michael grew up in a military family along with his siblings, Denise, Bill and Brad.

Michael is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; his four children, Robert “Robbie” Hodgson, Laura “Miki”(Chris) Parret, Stephaney (Willie) Stover and William “Mac” Hodgson. Four grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his brother Bill.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister – Denise and brother – Brad.

He was proud of his Native heritage as a member of the Prairie Band of Potawatomi Nation located in Mayetta, Kansas. He served for 2 years in the National Guard during high school and 10 years in the Army afterwards.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Attending Powwows and anything to do with history or native heritage. He enjoyed old movies and TV shows and riding his motorcycle.

The family will host a non-traditional Celebration of Life – date to be determined.

Michael’s remains will be spread on the reservation in Kansas, per his request.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors Project, American Kidney Fund or National Kidney Foundation.

Georgia Cremation, 7500 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31909 is assisting the family.

    What a beautiful family! Mike was loved and cherished by his wife, Maryanne and his family. They worked together as a great family unit taking care of him and one another during his time of illness. He was loved and will be missed.
