Michael William Pierce Sims

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Michael William Pierce “Mike” Sims, 43, of McDonough, GA, passed away August 28, 2022.

Mike was born August 9, 1979, in Griffin, GA to Charles and Jody Sims. He grew up in Hampton, GA alongside his sister and parents.

Mike spent his life in the metro Atlanta area and began DJing as a teenager. Music was Mike’s passion in life. He loved to entertain and make people happy through sharing music with everyone. He was exceptionally professional with his work, but that didn’t stop him from being the life of the party. “Big Mike”, as he was known, was a kind and giving guy, and he never met a stranger. He was funny and loved to laugh. Mike came from a close-knit family and his nephew, Pierce, was the apple of his eye. He always looked forward to celebrating the holidays and loved his sister’s cooking. Mike will be missed by everyone who ever knew him. He will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and most of all, through music.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Jody Sims; his uncle, Jay Pierce; and his beloved dog, Cosmo. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Charles Sims and Patti Collum of Hampton; sister, Emeli Bankston, and adoring nephew, Pierce Bankston, of McDonough; uncle, Danny Sims of NC; aunt, Jackie Wells of NC; extended family, and many friends. Mike’s family would like to thank you for supporting his dream throughout the years.

Celebration of Life details will be announced at a later date.

If you’d like to honor Mike, please consider donating to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or your favorite charity in his name.
