It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michele ‘Mitzi’ Danese Manning Maltbey. She peacefully left this world on Monday July 20, 2026, at the age of 64.

Michele was born on July 28, 1961, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late John Andrew Manning Sr. and Joyce Elizabeth Outlaw Manning. She will forever be remembered for her biting sarcasm, quick wit, and joyful smile. She was an art enthusiast, talented in many different mediums, including but not limited to, photography, drawing, and poetry. She loved taking trips down to Panama City Beach, Florida and could always be found enjoying the outdoors. She was a true lover of animals, including many cats over the years, a goat, and her childhood horse, ‘Tuff Stuff.’

Other than her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother, John Andrew Manning Jr.

Michele is survived by her two daughters, Sirena Maltbey and Rune Ward; one grandson, Damian Gibson; and two granddaughters, Estella and Autumn Ward.

Georgia Cremation is assisting the family with the arrangements.
