Nan Cofer Christie, age 80, died August 24, 2018. Nan had lived for the past year in Loganville, Georgia but was a long-time resident of Marietta, Georgia.

Nan was born in North Carolina to Carl Cofer and Jewell Cook Cofer. The family moved back to the Atlanta area where Nan graduated from Brown High School and attended the University of Georgia. She raised her son and daughter in Atlanta and Marietta working for VWR Scientific. Nan inherited a strong faith from her family and was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee in Atlanta and then First Baptist Church of Powder Springs. She loved the beach, being in the sun and picnics. It seems fitting for her remembrance service to include a picnic.

Nan is survived by her Son: Chuck Christie and his wife, Darlene McElreath Christie of Loganville; Grandson: Matthew Christie, his wife Holly Becker Christie and their daughters Ryleigh and Blakely of Grayson, GA; Grandson: Andrew Christie and his wife Kristen Arp Christie of Fayetteville, NC; Daughter: Carla Christie Herrin and her husband David Herrin of Powder Springs, their children; Granddaughter: Katie Herrin of Marietta; Grandson Daniel Herrin and Granddaughter Caroline Herrin of Powder Springs. Nan is also survived by her brother, Carl Cofer and his wife Susan Seydel Cofer of Atlanta and Chickamauga, GA, as well as their Daughters: Julie Cofer Hussey and husband William Hussey, their boys William and Walker of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Jane Cofer Roper, her husband David and their children Hugh and Susan of Atlanta, GA.

A Memorial Service and Picnic will be held on September 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, 4330 North Ave., Powder Springs, GA  30127.
