Paula Regina Gaines

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Paula Regina Gaines, 60,of Opelika AL passed away Sunday morning February 11th 2023 in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Paula was born September 23, 1963 in Fayetteville NC , the daughter of Bobby Frander and the late Kathy Frander. Paula’s family moved to Alabama in 1978 where she met the love of her life and they created a family together. She worked along side her Dad at New Dimension Homes for more than 25 years. Most recently she worked at Carol Perdue State Farm where she loved her customers and co-workers. Anyone who knew Paula knew her love for The Lord. She never missed an opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those she came in contact with. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and large loving family. Paula’s presence will forever be felt in the way she passed her love down to us. Her favorite place to be was in the water. Our family’s greatest memories come from our many beach trips and weekends by the pool.

Paula is survived by her loving husband of almost 43 years, David Gaines, 2 daughters, Lindsey Ezell (Danny McConnell), Mary Cowart and husband Charles Cowart, one son, David Gaines Jr. One sister, Lisa Davis (Ken), two brothers, Wesley Frander (Misha), Micheal Frander (Windy). Grandchildren, Austin Ezell (Sydney), Libbi Ezell (Parker), Lilli Ezell, Lila Rose Ezell, Charley Cowart, Mady Cowart, Maysi Cowart, Noah Gaines, Jonah Gaines, and Micah Gaines. One great granddaughter, Carter Rae Ezell and numerous nieces, nephews, loving Mother-in-law, Eloise Gaines, extended family members and very special friends.
Her family plans to hold a celebration of life at Concord  Baptist Church in Salem, Al on February 14th. Family visitation will begin at 1pm and the memorial at 2pm EST. Please join us in wearing teal for Ovarian Cancer Awareness or bright colors which were her favorite.
Georgia Cremation –  Coumbus is assisting the family with arrangements.

I worked with Paula at Title Credit Finance and we developed a friendship outside of work. She always had a beautiful smile and lit up a room when she walked through, everybody loved her. I’m sorry for your loss. I’m glad I got the chance to know and become friends with such a beautiful soul.

Paula was my stepdaughter at one time and I felt closer to her lately than ever. She was a child of GOD I could see her strength.
She and I shared Bible quotes with each other and she was kind to me while I went through sickness. I know she is extremely happy looking into the eyes of JESUS! Praying for Big Dave and kids, Wes, Lisa and Michael, and her dad, Bobby. She was loved so much on earth now it’s just gotten better with our LORD
