With profound grief and heavy hearts, we inform you of the passing of Mr. Peter Gerhard Sharp, aged 64, of Aichach, Germany, on the 16th of March 2024, in Columbus, Georgia. Peter was the beloved husband of Jeannie Sharp and the cherished father of Misty Sharp, whose lives he enriched with his unwavering love and guidance. He also leaves behind several other family members and close friends who adored him.
After a long and commendable career at RC Cola where he retired, Peter then concluded his professional journey with DA Logistics, where he was esteemed for his steadfast work ethic and commitment to excellence.
A man of simple pleasures, Peter found joy in the serenity of nature, the warmth of family gatherings, making everyone around him laugh and the camaraderie of friends. His love for rock n roll, the thrill of Nascar, and the excitement of football were the simple pastimes that spoke to his spirited personality.
Known for his kindness and the quiet strength he provided to those around him, Peter leaves behind a legacy of love and the enduring respect of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is predeceased by his parents, Harless and Venice Sharp, his sister, Grace Gallagher, and his mother-in-law, Geraldine James.
The family invites you to join them in honoring Peter’s life at Cox Funeral Home, 240 Walton St., Hamilton, GA 31811, on March 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
As we bid farewell to Peter, we carry forward the memory of a man whose presence was a gift to us all, and whose spirit will continue to inspire and comfort us in the days ahead.
