Richard C. Morsch was born January 10, 1936 in South Pekin, Illinois to the late Mary Millich Morsch and George Morsch. He was the youngest of twelve children. After high school, Mr. Morsch joined the United States Air Force and served our Country with great honor. After his military career, he lived in California for over 40 years and made his home in Georgia for the past 17 years. He loved to travel and even after his retirement, Mr. Morsch enjoyed taking road trips just to get out and see something new.
Mr. Morsch was a very compassionate and generous man and would give the shirt off his back or open his door to those in need. He never met a stranger and his sense of humor could always turn a frown upside down. He enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his dogs, cats, and cockatoos. When he was not attending to the needs of others, he enjoyed playing cards, attending art fairs, finding a new checkered shirt, investing in real estate, and collecting knick-knacks.
Mr. Richard C. Morsch, 82, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Columbus Hospice with family and close friends by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; cat, Homer, and dog, Daisy.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews plus a host of extended family, friends and his faithful feline companion, Wally.
The family is honoring the wishes of Mr. Morsch and no public services will be held. Mr. Morsch’s ashes will be entombed at Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery in Oakland, California.
