Mr. Richard Lee Taylor, 84 passed from his earthly life to his heavenly home at the Columbus Hospice House on September 13, 2023, with his loving wife by his side. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, a great friend to all and will be greatly missed!
Richard was born February 2, 1939. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1958. He was a member of Porter Memorial Baptist church. He served in the Army National Guard and retired from Malone Office Supply. He loved to exercise, work in the yards, watch and feed the birds and especially loved caring for his fur-babies. He loved spending time with his family and friends. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his special friends at Christmas time!
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at Rose Hill Baptist Church, 2100 Hamilton Road, Columbus, GA at 1:00 PM with Pastor Steve Lewis officiating. A visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Faircloth Taylor, Columbus, Georgia, Brother-Bobbie Lewis Taylor, North Carolina, Brother-in-law-Bernis (Junior) Faircloth, “Laurie”, North Carolina He is preceded in death by his Mother Ruth Colwell Grover, Step-Father George Baker Grover, Father, Lewis Franklin Taylor, Grandmother, Arlene Colwell, Grandfather, Morgan Colwell and Brothers, Buster Taylor, and Jerry William Taylor. He has many nieces, nephews, cousins, “very special friends” and his fur-babies, Rambo, Bootsie, AnnaBelle, and Fluffy Duffy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to your favorite animal shelter or charity.
