Robert Alvin Riggs, known to friends and family as Alvin, passed away on August 13, 2024, in Duluth, GA at the age of 77.
Born on February 10, 1947, in Kathleen, Georgia, Alvin graduated from Warner Robins High School and received his degree in Physical Education from the University of Georgia. He worked as a Shipping Supervisor in the Corrugated industry for over 40 years and retired from Rusken Packaging at the age of 71. Alvin enjoyed golf, poker, crossword puzzles, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs every football season. He found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, especially his kids and grandkids.
Alvin lived a life marked by his warm and gentle nature and one-of-a-kind personality that brought lots of smiles and laughter to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten and the memories and funny stories he left us will live on in our hearts forever.
Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the family with arrangements.

I knew Alvin when I was 6-7 yrs old and he was 12-13. He went to Rumble Jr High with my sister Joyce who had a crush on him, like a lot of girls did back then 1958-59-60. I would hike about a mile to his house because I idolized him and although I was a little guy, he never turned me away. He took me to the movies once when the Rama theater was on 1st St. Alvin also got me involved with the WR Rec Center youth sport’s activities when Claude Lewis ran the Rec Center. Alvin was well liked and loved by so many in Warner Robins. His brothers were good guys but to me, nobody was better than Alvin Riggs.
Mary Davidson says
Alvin was a gentle person who was loved by so many. Every time I hear, “You are now in Demon Country!” at a WRHS football game I think of him. He originated that phrase that has started every game for years now! RIP Alvin.

Alvin was my youngest brother and I loved him dearly. I have so many wonderful memories going back to his birth. Having three older bratty brothers Alvin got all my attention and that continued throughout our life. He was the sweetest, most decent person and I will cherish all of my memories. He. Loved his family, Johnathan, Erin, Kristina and Charlie and most of our last communications were always about them. Erin was his angel always making sure all of his needs were taken care of in the most loving way

Randy Stelk says
I was heartbroken to hear about Alvin’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Alvin’s family during this difficult time.
Alvin was more than just a friend to me; he was like family, especially during that time when I lived with the Riggs family during my junior year. I’ll never forget those several months—it was a period that left an indelible mark on my life. Mrs. Mary Riggs, a little lady with her big heart, welcomed me into your home and treated me as one of her own. Her kindness and warmth made a lasting difference in my life, and I’ll always be grateful for that. The entire Riggs family showed me what true generosity and love look like.
Alvin’s warm and gentle spirit, his sense of humor, and his ability to bring people together are qualities I will always remember. The memories of those days with the Riggs family, filled with laughter and love, are treasures I hold close to my heart.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Randy

Alvin and I met in 8th grade and always had a good laugh together every time I saw him at reunions or other WR sites. I don’t know of anyone who didn’t like him immediately.
RIP Alvin…thank you for your friendship.
