Robert Dale Morgan, 69, of Jonesboro, Ga, passed away February 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Bobby passed peacefully and in no pain.
Bobby was born October 26, 1953, in Atlanta, Ga to the late Eddy Dale Morgan and Myrtle Jo (Mobley) Mackey. He grew up in East Point alongside his parents, his younger sister, and his younger brother. To Bobby, his life-long best friend was his Dad. He attended and graduated from Headland High School in East Point and went on to join the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
Bobby had a long career in carpeting installation and sales, eventually owning his own carpeting business. He had a love for hunting, especially with his Hancock County hunting club, fishing and water sports on Lakes Hartwell and Oconee, and deep-sea fishing from Daytona Beach. He especially took pride in coaching his kids’ baseball, softball, and football teams. He shared all of these loves and his zest for adventure with his family.
Bobby enjoyed life, whether diving off a ship bow or telling cringey jokes. He had a big personality and loved making others laugh. He was also a connoisseur of foods. He was extremely proud of his children and made sure he let that be known!
Bobby spent over 20 years married to Sandra S. Morgan, and though their marriage did not last, the LOVE they had brought family and friends together for a lifetime.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father: Eddy Dale Morgan; his brother: Doug Morgan: his father-in-law: Harry M. Strider; and his mother-in-law: Lucille Strider. He is survived by his mother: Myrtle Jo Morgan Mackey of Lawrenceville, GA; his children: David Ashley Morgan (Sue Bryan) of McDonough, Ga, Kristina N.
