Mr. Roy Lee “Pete” Ellis, age 63, passed away on April 2, 2018 after a long, brave battle with cancer.
Pete was born on June 1, 1954, in Atlanta, to the late Roy and Rosie Ellis. He was a true Atlantan, living his entire life in the city. He was known by his friends and family to be a true county boy. He loved jackpot carp fishing and hunting deer, turkey and rabbits. He was funny and sweet – a big teddy bear. Pete was undeniably a hard worker and provider for his family. He worked even through his illness and eventually retired due to the effects of chemotherapy. He was so loved and will be dearly missed by his family, coworkers, and hunting and fishing buddies.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 34 years: Linda Ellis of Atlanta; children: Matthew (Renaye) Henry of Stockbridge, Robert Andrew Henry of Colorado Springs, CO, and Melissa (Jorge) Gonzalez; grandchildren: Ayana, Maya, Gloria and Alyssa; great-grandson: Pheonix; beloved pets: Bodreaux the dog and Meaness the cat.
Messages of condolence may be left at www.GeorgiaCremation.com. The Ellis family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 1086 Hwy 54 West, Fayetteville.

Goodbye Mr. Pete. I will always remember your kindness, your funny stories, and that you have a gentle heart despite your tough guy appearance. I will miss you.

Sorry for your lost , I had worked with Pete for all most 18 years . He was a great man that did not mind teaching a New Yorker on how to use a turkey call.
Wayne Vosburgh says
I worked with Pete at Hussmann for 18 plus years. Pete was a friend and had all of the great qualities in one person that I am sure we all wish we could have. Pete had a wonderful sense of humor and, on occasion, would tell a joke in the breakroom that always made us laugh. Pete will be missed.
May God Bless You

Pete, I recently restored your old 4X4. I was cleaning one of your old rifles just the other day. Years of great memories working with you, Buddy. We will meet again someday. I think of you often and I always will. Rest in peace my friend.
