Rufus Lester Gordy, age 90, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on October 12, 2019. Born July 6, 1929 to parents J.R. Gordy and Ulma Ellis Gordy. He was a great family man and a loving father. He married Huguette R. Guilletat in Angouleme, France and the couple had two daughters, Caroline (Gordy) Fleet and Anouchka (Gordy) Whitworth. He enjoyed reading and taking care of his pet dog. He will always be remembered as a loving father, friendly, joking and generous.

Rufus made his career in the U.S. Army, having served in France, Germany, Vietnam and stateside. He retired and was honorably discharged from the military on August 31, 1975.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. with full military honors at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
