Russell Lane Pruitt passed away on July 20, 2024. He was born in Columbus, GA on August 8, 1964 to Robert and Betty Pruitt.
Lane was a skilled craftsman and took great pride in a hard day’s work. He was the owner of a flooring installation and restoration business and strived for excellence with every job, no matter how big or small. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors but his greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. Lane’s quick wit, love of practical jokes, and kind heart made him a favorite of everyone not to mention that he was a master on the grill and made the absolute best Brunswick stew! Being the only boy of the family, Lane learned patience early on from having to share a bathroom with five sisters! He also learned that siblings are forever best friends and that no matter what, sisters will always love their brother. The true loves of his life were his children and grandsons, and his unwavering dedication to them and the love for his family will forever be remembered. He was their hero and mentor.
Lane is survived by his mother, Betty Pruitt Ray; children, Ashley Pruitt, Crystal Pruitt Faulkner, Richard Pruitt and Morgan Pruitt; grandsons Todd Bullock, Troy Dowda, and Tyler Dowda; sisters, Rita Pruitt, Robin Stubbs (Gary), Lori Desimone (Tom), and Renee Gaddis; and many special nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Pruitt; sister, Faye Bishop; nephews, Tim Stubbs and Justin Gaddis.

A service to celebrate his life will be planned for a later date.
