It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Samuel Billingsley. He was born on September 27, 1966, in Riverside, CA to James H. and Lezora (Carroll) Billingsley. Sam grew up in Riverside alongside his parents and siblings.  Samuel departed from this life on September 15, 2023.  A man of great honor and integrity, his presence brought joy and comfort to all who knew him. His profession was long haul trucking for many years and also became an instructor and dispatcher. He never met a stranger he couldn’t talk to, and never encountered a subject that he didn’t know anything about.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James Harold Billingsley and Lezora Estes Carroll.

Samuel’s resilient spirit, wisdom, and infectious laughter will be carried forward by his wife of 30 years: Vickie Gray Billingsley; his children: Anthony Watkins, Amber Hill, Victoria Whorton, Anna Gray; his siblings: LaFonda Bolen, Willie Ann Billingsley Weeks, Thomas E. Billingsley, Raymond “Bee-Bee” Billingsley, James E. Billingsley, all of California, and 14 Grandchildren.

His legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in our hearts.
