Sandra Diane Hancock, born October 19, 1955, in Columbus, Georgia, passed away on January 31, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Finney Hancock and Mae Marie Hancock.
She is survived by her siblings: her brother Ronnie Hancock and his wife Norma, her brother Alan Hancock (preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hancock), and her sister Penny Hancock, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Sandra was a private person who valued her independence and the quiet comforts of life. She spent a meaningful season living in California, where she made special memories and friendships, before returning home to Columbus. She enjoyed listening to the Goo Goo Dolls, watching movies, taking pride in her Jeep, was known to appreciate a nice handbag or two, and had a lifelong love for flamingos. More recently, she found enjoyment in her weekly visits with her siblings, which meant a great deal to her.
A celebration of life will be held at the Phenix City Shrine Club, February 21, 2026 at 2pm est.
She will be remembered for the simple joys she loved and the life she lived on her own terms.
Georgia Cremation – Columbus is assisting the family with the arrangements.
