Sandra Gail Hayes “The Helper” passed away to glory on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the age of 69. Sandra was born on March 31, 1954, in Moultrie (Colquitt County), GA to the late Ethel Lee Hayes and the late Addie Lee Hayes. Sandra gave her life to Jesus Christ at a young age. She graduated from the Colquitt County public school system in 1972.
Sandra had the opportunity to live out her dreams as a cosmetologist and a licensed practical nurse (LPN). She graduated cosmetology school in 1991 and LPN school in 2009. She was ordained as a minister in March 2022.
She married and relocated to the Atlanta, GA area where they raised their family. An entrepreneur in spirit and heart, she owned and operated her own business as a cosmetologist with her friend Lavista Grimes for about 10 years. One of her gifts was helping and caring about people. Her other dream in life was to be a nurse, which she accomplished to help many people. She worked in the nursing profession for about 10 years before she retired to help take care of her mother and others.
Sandra was a very creative and crafty individual. She created a “Candy Plant” that she sold in a local hospital gift shop.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ethel Lee and Addie Lee Hayes, and brother Billy Wise.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Reginald P. Brown of Norcross, GA, A. Rashad Brown of Stone Mountain, GA, bonus son Dietrich P. Brown of Jacksonville, FL, one daughter, Regina Brown Long (Joe) of Stone Mountain, GA; three sisters, Annie Wise of Charlotte, NC, Jacqueline Williams of Doerun, GA; Sheila Farrell of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Charles Hayes; Four grandchildren, Zavon Brown and Christian Brown of Decatur, GA and Kaleb Long and Breana Long of Stone Mountain, GA, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Grateful and thankful for the richness of her life, the generosity of her heart, and the love of her family and friends. Thank you ALL for your concerns, thoughts, calls, visits, and prayers during this difficult time.
May the Most Gracious Lord, who has welcomed Sandra Gail Hayes into the kingdom, bless you and your family abundantly!!!

Family:
When he knew the “day was over” and that “night was drawing nigh,” and when the apostle knew “shadows of the evening” were stealing “across the sky,” he told Timothy what I believe Sandra, my friend and co-laborer in ministry shared with us: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). Yes, her road became violent, filled with pitfalls and rugged terrain. But Sandra, (whose “good works”) I had numerous opportunities to witness, ‘persevered’ and ‘continued’ her journey to meet our soon coming king — the Messiah, Yeshua.
Let those signals be to you as was the evidence of the “baby wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger” was to the shepherds: the signs of “staying power,” and “stick-to-it-iveness,” to meet the Creator of heaven and earth. So, I recommend to you to keep it moving with a heart full of expectation, your only hope — realizing that one day his MAJESTY shall welcome us into the Celestial city, the City of God — our eternal home.
Grace, Peace and Mercy be upon you.

Auntie Sandra will truly be missed ! Little does she know I looked up to her because she was the only entrepreneur in the family I knew of all these years & she was very instrumental in my now entrepreneur journey with her encouraging words & advice as well as a cheerleader . I chose to remember her as she was & those talks & memories will stay with me . One thing I’m a miss is that contagious laugh that we share & her willingness to help any & everyone. Heaven has gained a true angel .

My sister was the wind beneath my wings, more like a second Mother than a sister, there was no mountain high enough and no valley low enough that she would not endure….her legacy is truly her qeniune love for all. The world feels changed and not complete without her, she’s searching to help and love on somebody now, she doesn’t know anything else. …..Free at last….your turn to just be loved by the Father.

I recall our last visit to Charlotte to see Aunt Doll and we spent the day with family. We laughed and shared stories. I remember Sandra telling me that she was interested in the work I was doing and to let her know how she could support the program. What a kind action. She is now with the Ancestors. Rest Dear Sandra until we see you again.

Condolences to Sandra’s children and grandchildren and to the rest of her family. I meet Sandra through working at CareMinders Home Care, she was an employee who became a friend and one of my biggest cheerleaders. What a beautiful soul she was. She lived her life for the lord first and her family. I’m so sorry she’s gone, but I know it’s on to a better place for her work here is finish. I took for granted that I will pick up the phone to call you and you’ll answer. I will miss you my friend. Now rest in peace, for your work was well bone. Love you my friend, Leslie!❤️

December 21, 2023 marks the day I lost a good friend. Though we did not have longevity in our friendship we fell into step with one another at Samaritan’s Purse in 2021 like we had known each other for years. I wish we could have laughed and cut up together one more time before she went to glory. I will miss her laugh and the way she embraced and tackled life, she put the positive in positive and was a joy to be with. Loved her jubilant personality! So glad and blessed to have known her…thank You Lord for the gift that was Sandra Hayes. ❤️

My dear sweet cousin Sandra. I moved to Decatur GA in 1981 & Sandra, Clarence & at that time the twins welcomed me into their home. I stayed with them 3 months until I found an apartment and moved my family down from Delaware. We traveled to Moultrie to visit Aunt Doll & Uncle Addie and Cousin Sheila. I was at home and treated with love and kindness. Over the years we kept in touch and talked often. I can still hear her voice and laughter. We are blessed to have her in this family. Rest in peace and power our amazing loved one until we meet again.❤️🙏🏿
